The 2025 ILA Annual Conference celebrates inclusivity and belonging for patrons and library workers alike with the ILA Conference theme: "You Belong Here."
ILA is seeking interns for the conference, which will be held October 14-16, at the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center in Rosemont, Illinois. Conference interns will complete at least four hours of work, as assigned before the conference, and in accordance with the conditions and benefits of the ILA Annual Conference Internship Program outlined below.
Interns are expected to review and follow the ILA Statement of Appropriate Conduct.

The eligibility requirements for the ILA Annual Conference Internship Program include:
- Applicants must be students (full or part-time) in a Library/Information Science program at a school in Illinois or a 2025 graduate from a Library/Information Science program in Illinois
- Students may be in a graduate program or working towards LTA certification
- Applicants must be able to attend at least one day of the conference, October 14-16, 2025
- Completed applications must be received no later than Tuesday, September 23, 2025
Benefits of the ILA Annual Conference Internship Program include:
- Waived full conference registration
- Formal recognition at the conference
- An opportunity to network with colleagues, develop professional contacts, and experience the conference in a unique way
Assignments include:
- Help Desk Assistant
- Event Check-in and Assistance
- Exbitior Check-In Assistance
- Awards Luncheon* (Setup and Check-In)
- IACRL Luncheon* (Setup and Check-In)
- Youth Services Forum Author Breakfast* (Setup and Check-In)
- Conference Runner (help with signage and any additional duties assigned by the ILA Conference and Continuing Education Program Manager)
Assignments will be made based on the needs of the conference. Applicants will be notified of their status by Monday, September 29, 2025.
**The conference cannot provide housing or cover the cost of transportation for interns. **

* If assigned to help at a luncheon, the Awards Luncheon or the IACRL Luncheon, lunch will be provided.
* If assigned to help at the Youth Services Forum Breakfast, access to complimentary breakfast will be available.
Please note: Lunch is not provided on Tuesday unless you are assigned to the Awards Luncheon. Lunch is included with registration on Wednesday and Thursday.
