The Rebecca Caudill Young Readers' Book Award is Illinois’ Readers' Choice award for students in grades 4-8.

In this webinar, RCYRBA Board member, Janet Thompson will share booktalks for the 2025 list of 20 nominees. You'll also learn about the role of our evaluators and how you can get involved in helping select future lists.

About the Speaker

Janet Thompson is a children's services librarian and first assistant at the West Belmont Branch of the Chicago Public Library. She is the nominations committee chair of the Rebecca Caudill Young Readers' Book Award. Her passions are stories and literacy, and especially working with young emerging and developing readers.
