The Health Science Librarians of Illinois organization will hold its Annual Conference from Wednesday, October 25, to Friday, October 27, at The Chateau Hotel and Conference Center in Bloomington, IL. The theme of this year’s meeting will be “The Times Are Changing”. Several events at the Conference will feature Illinois academic librarians. The morning of October 27, Dr. Emily Knox will deliver the keynote address. Dr. Knox, who is an Assistant Professor at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign’s School of Information Sciences, will speak on the topic “Providing Ethical Services in Changing Times”. The talk will focus on the ways in which librarians can adapt their codes of ethics to ensure that libraries continue providing equitable services to all users, even in times of drastic social and cultural change. Additionally, Merinda Kaye Hensley, Associate Professor and Digital Scholarship Liaison and Instruction Librarian at UIUC, will present on the topic “Moving from Theory to Application: Adult Education and Instructional Design” on Thursday afternoon. More information about Hensley’s session will be forthcoming on the Conference website.

Early-bird registration for the Conference ends Tuesday, October 10, as does the availability of the Conference rate at The Chateau. Please check the Conference website for more information on registration, the schedule of speakers, and other Conference-related activities.
