Better Board Decisions
January 27, 2015
New title for your trustee bookshelf
Wiser: Getting Beyond Group Think to Make Groups Smarter, published in December, talks about the pitfalls of group decision-making but goes one step further to explore strategies to improve the process. The authors--Cass Sunstein of Harvard Law School and Reid Hastie of the University of Chicago's Booth School of Business--bring both scholarship and a lively writing style to the subject. With examples from business and government, ranging from Google to the CIA, it's a great read for board members and anyone who has to work in a group or committee setting.
