New Minimum Wage Legislation

February 22, 2019

Governor Pritzker signed Public Act 101-0001, the Lifting Up Illinois Working Families Act, into law on February 20, 2019. This law raises the minimum wage in the state of Illinois to $15 per hour by 2025. ILA has been following the progress of this legislation and shared information as it became available. We held an online Q&A session regarding the law on February 19, and have compiled a collection of resources intended to help librarians understand the law and what it means for libraries, including a recording of the session. Resources will continue to be developed and added; if you have a resource to suggest, please email ILA Executive Director Diane Foote at dfoote@ila.org
