Act This Week to Improve FOIA!

November 17, 2014
The Illinois General Assembly needs to hear from you this week in order to improve Freedom of Information Act provisions. The veto session currently scheduled for November 19 and 20 may be our only chance to have an impact on this legislation that was overwhelming passed by both houses, but vetoed by Governor Quinn. The ability to refer requests for information that is already posted on the web will increase transparency and compliance, as will limiting voluminous requests to manageable proportions.
