Office Manager | Grayslake Area Public Library District

Under the supervision of the Executive Director, the Office Manager will perform confidential administrative functions including, but not limited to, payroll and invoice processing, entering data into accounting software, working with HR vendors and outside accounting firms, maintaining personnel and financial files, participating in annual budget processes, and other duties as needed; must possess a high degree of discretion and a positive attitude.

COMPETENCIES (KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES)

  1. Knowledge of office systems and procedures, including clerical and payroll processing.

  2. Proficient in office software and hardware, including Microsoft Office programs, Google Suite applications, and Quickbooks.  

  3. Excellent time management skills and ability to problem solve and prioritize work while handling multiple initiatives.

  4. Ability to work accurately, independently, and with attention to detail.

  5. Ability to work collaboratively with all levels of staff and work styles.

  6. Demonstrates initiative and fiscal responsibility.

  7. Understands when to seek supervisory guidance.

  8. Conducts all library business in a professional and cooperative manner.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education: High school diploma or equivalent is required; specialized education and/or life/work experience is preferred; knowledge of payroll procedures is highly desirable.          

Experience: Three years of comprehensive and progressive office responsibilities is required.

Salary

$23.00 per hour; Full Time (37.50 hours per week)
