Illinois Association of College & Research Libraries Forum (IACRL)

December 31, 2016

Several Illinois academic librarians presented at the Spring and Fall 2016 IOLUG (Indiana Online Users Group) Conferences. The two annual IOLUG meetings, which are held at the Indiana Wesleyan University North Campus in Indianapolis, encourage librarians to share information on the latest trends in technology and librarianship, in order to foster innovation. The Spring event, themed “DIY UX: Innovate. Create. Design.”, took place on May 20. Suzanne Chapman, from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, delivered the keynote address, “Making the Most of Your DIY UX: Lessons Learned from a UX Librarian”. The Fall gathering, themed “Let Our Powers Combine: Engage. Partner. Inspire.”, was held on October 21. Kathy Ladell, of Northern Illinois University, presented the session “Meeting the Legal Information Needs of Immigrants”. Also, JJ Pionke, from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, gave the presentation “Supporting Dementia Caregivers Through Embedded Librarianship, Technology, and Relationship Building”.
