Message from the President
Illinois Association of College & Research Libraries Forum (IACRL)
March 20, 2024Sarah McHone-Chase, Aurora University
Hello IACRL membership!
I hope spring semesters have been going well for you all after what turned out to be a very strange winter.
Voting is open for the People’s Choice Award. Voting is also open for our election for IACRL officers. IACRL’s strength is in our membership. Thanks to each and every one of you.
April 17th, 12:00-1:00pm, we will have a program, “Connecting with Kaetrena Davis Kendrick: Clarifying Low Morale in Libraries,” which promises to be very informative. I’m really looking forward to it and I hope to see you there. See the ILA website to learn more about this free event.
OER Campus Kickstart Award is for growing OER programs on your campus. The application deadline has been extended to April 12, 2024. Please see OER Campus Kickstart: Award for Growing Illinois OER Programs for more information.
IACRL Presidents are always interested in finding volunteers for our committees, and I know that the committee appointments will be happening soon. Please consider volunteering.
I had a great time at ILA this past October and I felt that I really learned a lot. The IACRL Unconference is always my favorite event and this past year was no exception. I love hearing the ideas of others and hearing about what everyone is doing in their libraries. Fobazi Ettarh’s recorded presentation for our luncheon was also very interesting. I’m looking forward to seeing everyone in Peoria in the fall for our next conference!
