Deadline to Apply for ALA Leadership Institute is Friday, April 15
Illinois Association of College & Research Libraries Forum (IACRL)
April 13, 2016The ALA is continuing to accept applications for its 2016 Leadership Institute–themed “Leading to the Future”–through this Friday, April 15. The event will take place at the Eaglewood Resort in Itasca, Illinois, from August 8 to August 11. The Institute is designed for mid-career librarians who are interested in developing their leadership vision and framework, while also expanding a professional network that will assist them in carrying out their leadership goals. Activities and discussions will center around the major challenges facing the profession as it goes through drastic changes in the coming years. This year’s gathering will be led by former ALA President Maureen Sullivan and leadership consultant Kathryn Deiss, both of whom have hosted the Institute in the past.
Up to 40 applicants will be selected. Self-nominations are permitted, and applicants may also be nominated by their employer. Those chosen will receive a paid one-year membership in LLAMA.
