The Governor and Illinois General Assembly Must Pass a Budget!
October 2, 2015A state budget compromise is long overdue. The failure to pass a budget has impacted every person in every corner of the state. From the most basic services government must provide to protecting the most vulnerable citizens, the lack of funding is punishing all of Illinois. Without a state budget, libraries will receive NO state grant funding. Without state funding some local libraries will close. All libraries will have to reduce services, and the state will lose millions in federal grant funds. The time to act on a budget is NOW.
