Proposals Sought for IACRL@ILA track at 2018 ILA Conference
Illinois Association of College & Research Libraries Forum (IACRL)

Lewis University
As co-chair of the 2018 Illinois Library Association conference, I’d like to encourage academic librarians from across the state to submit a program proposal for ILA 2018, “Libraries: All Inclusive,” which will be held Oct. 9-11 in Peoria.
This year’s conference will again include an IACRL@ILA track that focuses on academic library programming. In 2017, this track included more than 20 presentations by and for academic librarians.
IACRL@ILA will take the place of a standalone IACRL conference. Offering this programming at the ILA Annual Conference is more cost effective and also provides opportunities for collaboration across different kinds of libraries.
The theme of this year’s conference, Libraries: All Inclusive, offers librarians of all types a chance to come together and share ideas about promoting inclusivity in our communities, among our patrons, and within our own ranks. Libraries are places of refuge for members of our communities and institutions. How are you welcoming underserved populations into your library? What can we do to build community, inside and outside the library walls?
Program proposals are due at 11:59pm on Friday, March 16 and can be submitted online at https://www.ila.org/events/conference-call-for-programs.
If you have any questions about the 2018 ILA conference, proposal submissions, or the shift away from a standalone IACRL conference, please feel free to contact me at harmonli@lewisu.edu.
