The Jennie Huizenga Memorial Library at Trinity Christian College seeks a versatile and collaborative part-time Student Success Librarian. This position will focus on library activities that connect with Trinity students through instruction, engagement, and outreach. Some hours can be scheduled regularly with flexibility required to accommodate instruction requests.


This position will:

  • Provide library instruction to help students obtain, integrate, and apply information across all disciplines in coordination with faculty needs.
  • Design and maintain information literacy materials and tools that support student engagement, including online tutorials, research guides, and videos.
  • Act as a liaison with campus support centers (e.g., Office of Learning Services, Writing Center, etc.) to ensure library resources and services support student success.
  • Assess student learning of information literacy concepts through a variety of methods in collaboration with colleagues.
  • Expand the reach of the library through student-focused programming and/or activities.
  • Respond to reference questions from faculty, staff, students, and others.
  • Participate in the planning, implementation, and assessment of projects, policies, and procedures to improve library services.
  • Maintain knowledge of current trends, resources, and technology related to library teaching and instruction.
  • Supervise and train student workers as needed.
  • Perform other professional library duties as prescribed by the Library Director.


The person selected for this position should:

  • Possess or be working towards a Master’s degree from an ALA-accredited library/information science program. Related experience or training may be considered.
  • Have direct experience with information literacy instruction or coursework in an educational or teaching field.
  • Have excellent skills in interpersonal, oral, and digital communication.
  • Have technical and computer skills to develop and maintain online research guides.
  • Have a demonstrated ability to incorporate data to inform decision and improve processes.
  • Have a strong attention to detail.
  • Be creative in considering new ways to integrate library resources and services into the curricular and social life of Trinity’s students.
