Teen Services Librarian | Roselle Public Library District

The Roselle Public Library District Adult & Teen Services Department is looking for a passionate and proactive Teen Services Librarian to join our department on a full-time basis. The ideal candidate will engage well with others, be a dependable and organized self-starter, have an enthusiastic attitude, exercise good judgment, and demonstrate excellent communication skills.
Primary duties will involve creating outstanding events and experiences for our community by:
- Planning and presenting engaging programming for teens from sixth through twelfth grade
- Working with the Adult & Teen Services manager to provide direction and implementation of teen programs, materials, and resources including 3D printing and science kits
- Planning and carrying out outreach programs and events including a monthly middle school book club
- Providing reference and readers’ advisory assistance to teens and adults at our service desk
- Coordinates the teen volunteer program in concert with other department staff
- Serves as Notary Public
- Serving as a Person in Charge when necessary
- Selecting for assigned collection areas

Hours
This position requires availability for daytime, evening, and weekend hours and the flexibility to adapt the schedule according to the needs of the department. The schedule will operate on a rolling four-week basis, with one regular evening every week and one Saturday/Sunday weekend shift every four weeks.

Requirements
Required
- Minimum one year of relevant volunteer or paid experience, including experience working directly with teens, adults, families, and members of the public
- Valid Illinois Driver’s License with access to a safely operating vehicle and proof of automobile insurance
Preferred
- Master’s Degree in Library & Information Science highly preferred but may be substituted with a combination of relevant Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree and relevant work experience
- 3-5 years in a public library setting
- Ability to speak multiple languages a plus, particularly Polish or Spanish
Salary
Compensation ranging $25.50 to 28.70 per hour, depending on qualifications and in accordance with internal equity.
