The Fox River Valley Public Library District is seeking an Executive Director.  The opportunity to shape district services for years to come awaits the successful candidate. 

Our community of 70,000 residents, the seventh largest library district in Illinois by population, is vibrant and diverse.  The library’s leader must make community outreach to all of them a priority. The ideal candidate will have a strong grasp of new and emerging ways to reach the community, through social media and other means, in all corners of the library district. They will have or be willing to foster a strong connection to our community through engagement with partners and participation in community events. 

Our talented and passionate staff of 60 creates daily library magic for patrons with a $3.6M annual budget, a 30K sq ft main library, and a 5K sq ft branch.  They deserve a caring and ethical leader, with a passion for building and sustaining a staff with high morale, self-efficacy, and skill. A leader who is innovative, creative, resilient, and is equally passionate about library services and our community. 

This visionary new leader will continue to expand outreach services; implement innovative new service delivery models; work with the library’s architect and project manager to remodel the main library and plan for new facilities; be a careful steward of taxpayer funds and actively engage in fundraising, development, and grant-writing.
