RUSA Shared Collections Interest Group Twitter Chat on May 13
Illinois Association of College & Research Libraries Forum (IACRL)
May 13, 2016(via Tina Baich, Indiana University Purdue University Indianapolis)
The RUSA Shared Collections Interest Group is hosting a Twitter chat this Friday, May 13, 2016, beginning at 11:00 AM CST. Join the conversation by using the hashtag #RUSASCIG. We hope you will drop in and share your thoughts!
Possible topics of discussion include:
- What type of programs/topics would you like us to focus our time on at ALA Annual and in the future?
- What will be the biggest issue the next five years related to sharing of collections for your library, or libraries in a broader sense
- How are you “selling” shared print to your communities? Are you actively promoting them, and, if so, how? What great ideas do you have to share?
- Occasionally, the biggest confusions surrounding shared collections come from within the library community. How do we help our colleagues discuss shared collections?
The RUSA Shared Collections Interest Group will meet in person at ALA Annual, Saturday, June 25, from 1:00 to 2:30 PM PST, in Orange County Convention Center, Room W24D. The Group focuses on the topic of Shared Collections, which can encompass shared print initiatives, shared storage facilities, and prospective sharing of collections through cooperative collection development.
