Not Your Typical Collection or Service

May 9, 2014

When people think of libraries, they think of books.  However, libraries also circulate a myriad of items and provide a vast array of unique services. Some of the collections might surprise you, such as toys, garden seed packets, framed art work, green screens, musical instruments, telescopes, Kill-A-Watt meters, and much more.  Unusual services might include a craft supplies exchange, library book vending machines, technology petting zoos, photo restoration and museum passes.  Whether you are at a public, academic, school, or special library, we want to hear from you about your nontraditional library collection or services for an article in the ILA Reporter. Please get in touch with Pam Tomka at ptomka@aol.com so we can hear your story.
