Forum Spotlight - Resources & Technical Services Forum (RTSF)

Resources & Technical Services Forum (RTSF)

January 28, 2021

The Resources and Technical Services Forum (RTSF) provides networking and continuing education opportunities for library workers who specialize in cataloging, acquisitions, collection management, and collection development. Over the last several years, we’ve presented a number of popular sessions at the ILA Annual Conference on topics ranging from linked data to cataloging and maintaining genealogical collections to performance appraisals for Technical Services staff.

We are currently in the process of planning RTSF programs for the 2021 ILA Annual Conference. Please join us for our conference planning meeting on Tuesday, February 2nd, 2021 at 2 PM and help us brainstorm ideas for conference sessions. If you can’t attend the meeting, please e-mail RTSF Chair Nanette Donohue with ideas for Technical Services-related programming that you’d like to see at this year’s conference. Many of our best program ideas come from this meeting—we would love to “see” you there.

RTSF has two annual awards: the TBS, Inc. Technical Services Award, which honors an individual who has made a substantial contribution in the area of library technical services, and the Resources and Technical Services Forum Scholarship, which covers registration and travel for the ILA Annual Conference. Nominations for both awards are currently open, and we encourage you to nominate!
