ILA Conference Preview 2020

by Emily Gilbert, Rasmussen College

As we move out of summer and into fall, one thing remains constant--it’s almost time for ILA! Of course, this is a different kind of year and a different kind of conference. Due to COVID-19 concerns, ILA had to abandon plans to hold the conference in Springfield this year, and rather than canceling outright, opted to hold a virtual conference. The dates of 10/20-10/22 remain the same, and sessions will be offered in the afternoon between 12:00 and 4:00. There will also be a virtual exhibit hall in which you can explore a variety of vendors.

Of particular interest to IACRL members is the IACRL President’s Program on Wednesday at 3:00, where Jon E. Cawthorne of Wayne State University will discuss ACRL updates as well as diversity, equity, and inclusion. Due to limitations with the virtual format, IACRL will not be able to host the unconference this year, but the Conference & Continuing Education Committee is looking forward to getting the IACRL community together for another virtual Spark event later this year. Watch your email for more information to come!
