Do you know popular kids’ books from Willems to Telgemeier to Riordan? From Ozobots to Osmos and beyond, do you enjoy sharing technology programs with kids? We are seeking a visionary librarian to engage and inspire our school-age visitors!

If you have a keen interest in the creative use of technology and serving grade-schoolers, we’d like you to help us take our 1st-5th grade program to a new level. The Gail Borden Pubic Library District is an award-winning, cutting edge library district with a culturally diverse population of 147,000 residents. The Coordinator of Grade School Services will manage our grade school space, "The Youth Center."  The ideal candidate will bring their high-energy, creativity, and tech skills to coordinate school-aged programming at the Main Library and two branch buildings.  With a heavy focus on STEAM, MakerSpaces (including our new LulzBot 3D printer) and administration of the Battle of the Books program, you’ll be part of a collaborative team of 6 librarians along with Associates in our busy, fun, and creative group.

Full-time, exempt position (37.5 hours per week); must be available to work days, evenings & weekends.


  •  MLS from an ALA-accredited school
  • Minimum of three years of experience in public library services to children, including reference, programming, and supervisory experience
  • Extensive knowledge of children’s literature
  • Must be passionate about working with kids and have excellent interpersonal skills to be able to communicate well with children and adults
  • Highly developed organizational and project management skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively and be able to adapt to changing work situations and job requirements
  • Ability to remain calm and professional in stressful situations
  • Spanish language speaking skills, a plus


$54,000 DOQ + Excellent Benefits Package
