HOURS: Full-time 38 hours per week


DUTIES: The Champaign Public Library seeks a dynamic and creative leader to manage Children’s Services Department. You’ll oversee programs and collections for children and teens (birth through 12th grade), foster a welcoming environment for families, and promote literacy and educational success. Under the supervision of the Library Director and working with the Deputy Director, you’ll supervise staff, plan engaging programs, build community partnerships, and advocate for youth needs. You’ll also serve on the library’s management team.

Requirements

Master of Library Science degree (MLS) from ALA-accredited institution required
• One year of supervisory experience required
• Experience with youth programs required
• Two years of public library experience preferred
• Extensive experience with automated library catalog and circulation software required
• Knowledge of Spanish and/or French is helpful
• Any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities

Salary

$82,774 - $105,685 annually
