Call for Proposals

The Committee is currently seeking proposals in the theme of diversity, equity, and inclusion in OER and Open Pedagogy. For this event we are reserving two spots for student presentations. Topics to consider include, but are not limited to:

  • Culturally responsive instruction and “Open”

  • Elements of traditional textbook publishing or pedagogy that exclude

  • How “open” can clear barriers to DEI

  • OER is not fundamentally diverse or inclusive

  • OER and Belonging

  • OER in libraries more broadly

  • DEI in libraries more broadly

Proposals on other topics will also be considered as space allows.

Six presenters will give 10-minute lightning talks on their topics. After three lightning talks, attendees can select a breakout room for a 15 minute session to ask questions and talk about one of the topics from the first half. Breakouts for the second half will happen in a similar fashion.

If you are interested in presenting, please submit a proposal via this google form by Friday, February 25, 2022. The schedule will be finalized no later than March 11, 2022. This year we are encouraging student presentations, so please share with those groups if you are connected.
