Forum Board Information and Interest Form

What does the Trustee Forum Board do?

The Trustee Forum Board meets quarterly, on Thursday evenings in January, May or June, August, and November. We currently meet via Zoom, and plan to continue doing so in order to make sure that trustees from across the state can easily attend the board meetings.

The Trustee Forum Board submits proposals for Trustee Day at the ILA Annual Conference, sets the content for ILA trustee training programs, and selects the ILA Trustee of the Year from submitted blind nominations.

Board members are also strongly encouraged to attend the ILA Annual Conference (Trustee Day or full conference), ILA legislative meet-up(s), trustee training days, and be powerful advocates for Illinois libraries.

How many Board members are there?
The Board can consist of 7 - 15 board members. As of June 2022 there are 11 trustees serving on the board.

Who can be a Board member?
Board members must be a personal member of the Illinois Library Association. Membership on the Executive Board of the ILA Trustee Forum is limited to one trustee from any Illinois library.
