Input Sought for 2019 Revision of Serving Our Public
Over the past year, a committee made up of representatives from libraries in RAILS and IHLS have been reviewing the Serving Our Public 3.0: Standards for Illinois Public Libraries. The standards were last reviewed in 2012, published in 2014 and are used as part of the annual per-capita application as well as provide a basic framework to guide the development of public libraries across the state of Illinois.
We are soliciting feedback for the draft standards in preparation for our first public hearing at the ILA Annual Conference in Peoria which will take place on Wednesday, October 10 from 4:15-5:00. The majority of the standards remained the same from 3.0, however, there are changes proposed throughout. The following link contains just the list of standards and does not include the checklist items, appendices or bibliographies that may be included in the final version.
Once you have reviewed the document, please answer the following short survey to provide feedback to the committee. The survey link will be open until Friday, October 5, 2018.
Feel free to pass the standards on to others who may have feedback for the draft standards. Thank you in advanced for your help as we work to revise these standards.
