Library Director | Olney Public Library

The Library Director, a full-time position, is the primary administrator responsible for the basic organization and operation of the city of Olney Public Library.  We prefer candidates who are skilled in using and troubleshooting computer equipment, software, social media apps, electronic databases, library web-pages, and Polaris integrated library modules or the equivalent.  The successful candidate must have the physical capabilities to meet the needs of a library working environment.


  • Master of Library Science from an ALA accredited library school or Master's degree with four to five years of library experience preferred. 
  • A Bachelor's degree or four to five years of working in a library are minimum qualifications.


$30,000 -- $40,000 per fiscal year, based on education and experience. Benefits include medical and life insurance, paid sick leave, vacation and personal days, participation in IMRF.
