Booth Library at Eastern Illinois University in Charleston seeks a Dean of Library Services to provide coordination, supervision, and administration of programs and activities of the Library. The successful candidate must provide leadership in the development of mission and goals for the Library and make recommendations to the Vice President for Academic Affairs on all aspects of library services including budgets, collections, development, and evaluation of faculty and staff.
Booth Library is located in the heart of the Eastern Illinois University's campus and contains over a million volumes and more than 500,000 microforms. - Must possess demonstrated planning and organizational skills, a commitment to community engagement, an interest in developing the library as an emerging, progressive living and learning space on campus, and strong communication skills.
- Have had experience with supervision of academic and civil service employees, experience managing varied and complex budgets, a commitment to diversity, and experience in promoting inclusive excellence.
- Must possess an ALA-accredited MLS and a completed second master’s degree.
Preference will be given to candidates with a minimum of five years of experience as head of a department or in a similar leadership role.
Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
