The Chatham Area Public Library District in Chatham, IL, a bedroom community 8 miles south of Springfield, is seeking an innovative and service-oriented professional who will be responsible for reference, readers’ advisory, creating local history displays and creating and maintaining the digital and physical library collection for its Opal Lee Chatham Local History and Genealogy Room.

The successful candidate is knowledgeable in technology used in genealogy search, digitization, and conversion software. This full-time position, with 20 hours devoted to reference services and 20 hours devoted to Chatham’s local history and genealogy services, gives the successful applicant the opportunity to work in a spacious facility in a growing community with a strong commitment to customer service.
