Reaching Forward Call for Programs

The Reaching Forward Conference Committee is accepting program submissions for the 2018 Conference, which will be held Friday, May 4, at the Stephens Convention Center in Rosemont. Proposals must be submitted using the online proposal form. Incomplete proposals can be saved and revised at any time prior to the submission deadline, Friday, September 8, 11:59 p.m.  

Submit a Program Proposal

The Reaching Forward Conference serves library staff at all levels, with a strong focus on frontline and support staff. All programs slots are 60 minutes. Programming is organized by the following tracks:

  1. Advocacy

  2. Collections and Technical Services

  3. Customer Service

  4. Diversity and Special Populations

  5. Human Resources

  6. Leadership, Management, and Staff Development

  7. Marketing and Outreach

  8. Programming

  9. Reference and Readers Advisory

  10. Technology

  11. Wellness

  12. Youth and Young Adult Services

 

You will be asked to provide the following information about your proposed session:

  1. Organizer and speaker(s) information

  2. Program title and description

  3. Program Track

  4. Speaker qualifications to speak on your topic

  5. Learning outcomes for attendees

  6. Room setup, preferred time of day

  7. Program experience level and format

  8. Additional information you’d like to share with the committee

Reaching Forward provides complimentary registration for conference speakers. Conference speakers who are employed by or a trustee of a library (academic, public, school, special), a library agency, or library school located in the State of Illinois are not eligible to receive an honorarium, but can receive reimbursement of parking and mileage expenses.
