Lisa Sarm, Lincoln Library

Prepare to embark on a reading quest because 2011 iREAD committee chair Kathi Kresol is proud to announce 2011's summer reading program theme, A Midsummer Knight's Read. Young dukes and duchesses at your library will be inspired to read about daring knights, clever princesses, sly wizards, and--oh no!--fire-breathing dragons!

The votes are in! After tabulating nearly 7,000 votes, the iREAD committee would like to congratulate 2010 young adult poster contest winner Michaela from the Morrison-Talbot  Library (Lewis & Clark Library System). You may view the poster online. 2010 chair Jason Stuhlmann would also like to thank all the teens who submitted suitably spooky posters, those who voted, and the libraries that helped iREAD to make this venture possible.

iREAD would like to recognize and thank Psi Iota Xi Sorority, Illinois State Association, for donating $1,000 to purchase the 2009 iREAD Read on the Wild Side resource guide for each public library in the Lincoln Trail Libraries System, and in addition, the Lansing Public Library (Metropolitan Library System) and the Marrowbone Public Library District (Rolling Prairie Library System).

Please be aware that the deadline to order Read on the Wild Side products without incurring a $5  late fee has passed. Orders will be delivered in January/February 2009. Remember, there are no refunds or exchanges on iREAD merchandise, so order carefully!

If you are interested in finding out more about iREAD and how you can contribute to our worthy cause, please contact 2009 iREAD chair Vince Sovanski, Glenside Public Library District, 25 E.
