Planning to attend the 2009 American Library Association Annual Conference in Chicago? If so, we would like to encourage you to consider attending the Young Adult Library Association (YALSA) programs. Check out all the great plans YALSA has for this year's conference in Chicago, July 9-15, including the YALSA Happy Hour and Fashion Show, Margaret A. Edwards Award Luncheon, William C. A full list of YALSA programs and ticketed events can be located on the YALSA Conference Wiki.
YALSA is the fastest growing division of the American Library Association (ALA). For more than fifty years, YALSA has been the world leader in recommending reading, listening, and viewing for teens. So, take the train or car pool with friends and enjoy what this great conference has to offer anyone who works with teens. You will not be disappointed.
The 2009 Illinois Library Association Annual Conference will be here soon! If you are coming to this year’s conference in Peoria, make plans to attend the exciting line-up of young adult programs. Reader’s advisory for gamers and year round programming ideas for teens are just a couple of the scheduled sessions. For more conference information, see the preliminary program, now available online.
Another treat not to be missed is this year’s Young Adult Services Forum Reception on Wednesday, October 7 at the Hotel Pere Marquette. Join us for an evening of desserts, conversation, and fabulous door prizes!
We hope to see you at the annual conference and on the wiki. If you are interested in joining the YASF and contributing to the ILA annual conference, helping establish an award for YA librarians in Illinois and networking with librarians across the state, please contact the YASF president, Veronica Schwartz.
