It’s time to play in Peoria!
The 2009 Illinois Library Association Annual Conference returns to Peoria, October 6-9, with something for everyone. The ILA Annual Conference is the best place in Illinois to develop professionally, advance your career, connect with colleagues, and learn about new techniques and new products that improve library services for your community. This year’s conference offers more than 70 programs and will feature more than 125 companies exhibiting their new products and services.
This year’s conference is also easy on your budget. We’ve held the line on registration fees, and lower expenses in Peoria allow us to reduce the cost of conference events.
Who Attends
The ILA conference is attended by librarians, trustees, library
assistants, educators, and others interested in libraries. Illinois
librarians spend more than $425 million on library and library-related
materials and supplies each year.

Attendee Information
Become actively involved in the 2009 ILA Annual Conference by presenting
a poster session or talk table. Poster sessions and talk tables
will be offered on the exhibit floor at the Peoria Civic Center, October 7 and 8.
Poster sessions showcase successful research projects, display
a grant, or present an innovative program from your library. These
presentations are displayed on bulletin boards and are ninety minutes
in length. Presenters should be available during this time to answer
questions.
Talk tables are informal one-hour discussions on pertinent, often
everyday, topics led by a moderator. If there is a library topic
or question you want to discuss with your colleagues in an informal
setting, consider moderating a talk table.
