Navy Pier in Chicago was the site for ILA's Annual Conference, held September 23 - 26, 2008.
Illinois has one of the most extensive systems of libraries — public, academic, school, and special — in the country. A total of 3,802 libraries — public, college and university, school media centers, and special libraries (corporate, medical, law, religious, etc.) — are located in the state.
The Illinois Library Association (ILA) Annual Conference is the third-largest state library exposition in the nation. We represent 3,000 librarians from the state’s public, academic, school, and special libraries.
Who Attends The ILA conference is attended by librarians, trustees, library assistants, educators, and others interested in libraries. Illinois librarians spend more than $425 million on library and library-related materials and supplies each year.
